Parent Assist

Ages

5-10 plus parent or guardian (of any age)

This is a unique division in which the parent can swim with the racer in the water, run with the racer on the bike course (parents not allowed on bikes), then run with the racer on the run course.

We do not have age groups or placings for this category.  Parent assist racers do not receive timing chips.  It is just about introducing new kids to the sport in a non-competitive division.  Each finisher and helper will receive a finisher’s medal.

Distances (same as Sprint, with shorter bike option)

• swim 50 yd (down and back in the pool)
• bike 1 or 2 one mile laps (your choice, one mile recommended unless you are a stronger rider)
• run one 1/2 mile lap around the park

Assistive devices

• flotation devices ok
• training wheels ok
• pushing up the hills ok
• trailers ok
• live vests ok
• piggy back rides ok
