Timing chips: Thank you Francis Churchill for funding the wonderful timing chips system. This year, we were happy to have first class timing chips and instant results brought to you by Milliseconds.com and attorney David Francis, father of Diamond Kid racers. One of his assistants, Marilyn Richard lives here in Blue Diamond and helps us with the Diamond Kid every year. With these detailed chip results everyone can have fun seeing what their times are and dreaming up better ones for next year! Some adult races don’t even get timing chips. But Diamond Kids deserve only the best!

Nina Radetich: Speaking of only the best, it was our pleasure to have professional announcing by our mountain biking friend, triathlete, and Channel 13 News Anchor, Nina Radetich. Thank you Nina! You were perfect!

Dewey Collins: Dewey was the DJ in the suit controlling the sound system and playing live music. He brings high class status to this race with his state of the art sound system and wireless microphone for Nina and Jared. Besides DJ-ing events, composing music, and playing for parties, he is also a top notch music teacher. He has a super energetic style that our kids can identify with. No more boring piano lessons here. Dewey works at the Blue Diamond Elementary school during the day and teaches some of the local kids after school. He lives in Summerlin and teaches there, too. Top male finisher and top female finisher awards: one free pair of prescription glasses or designer sunglasses by Dr. Timothy Perozek. He is the eye doctor of choice of several BD residents and a good friend to the triathlon as well. He and his wife not only donate their products and services, but their time as well and last year you may remember them at the water station and with the cool carrot water bottles. He and his wife have their comprehensive opthamology offices on Town Center Drive in Summerlin.

Candy-filled waterbottles were provided by Dr. Al Thresher, father of Diamond Kid racers, River, Eathan, and Brody Thresher.

An orthodontist, cyclist, and triathlete himself, his boys are here racing today, as well.

Bike Check, administration, waterbottles, raffle prizes, etc.: Las Vegas Cyclery donated the bike check, waterbottles with licorice, and a host of cycling gear and equipment for the kids raffle, as well as MC talent, Jared Fisher, and countless hours of race organizing and facilitating by LVC President, Heather Fisher and friends Heather Putnam, Kendra O’Connel, Sheila Billingsley, Regan Stokes, and Cheryl Johnson. Cycling is good for your health and the environment. Las Vegas loves to see kids on bikes and running and being brave and active and happy and works hard to promote it within the community.

Police Badge Medals donated by Diamond Kid mom, Minta Albietz for the highest honor given at this event, the “Don Albietz Award” for courage which this year went to McCray and Bryar Tronnier.
