General Information

Welcome to Diamond Kid Junior Triathlon and Fun Run!

Our mission is to encourage lifelong recreation and conservation. We do this in two ways:

• Offering a variety of race categories to meet each athlete where they are
• Hosting our event in Blue Diamond, Nevada, a rural community nestled in the hills that surround the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Lifelong Recreation:

We believe that recreation is an important part of health and wellness, and that when people recreate across their lifespan, they live healthier and happier lives. We know that experiences in youth leave a lasting impression and forever influence the adults that we become. Through the various race categories that we offer, we aim to reach each athlete where they are to encourage participation and growth:

• Junior Long Triathlon: for those with strong swimming and cycling experience and moderate to excellent endurance
• Junior Sprint Triathlon: for those with some swimming and cycling experience and moderate endurance
• Parent Assist Triathlon: for those with little swimming and/or cycling experience and some endurance
• Mini Duathlon: for those with some cycling experience and some endurance. Appropriate for those not comfortable with swimming.
• Fun Run: no swimming or cycling experience necessary! 
• Diaper Dash: the earliest introduction, no swimming or cycling or even running experience necessary!

Conservation:

Diamond Kid Junior Triathlon and Fun Run is presented by Save Red Rock, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to preserve and protect the safety, serenity, and sustainability of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and its surrounding landscape, for all. By hosting this event in Blue Diamond, Nevada, event attendees experience the beauty of the desert and how we can recreate in and near it safely, respectfully, and sustainably.  We strive to raise the next generation of stewards who will advocate for and protect natural lands, wherever they are.
